Mongolian Beef from East Harbor.

Beaverton is the home of many things. Nike World Headquarters, a growing arts scene, a handful of nature parks that are perfect for hiking, and most importantly—an array of amazing food. We’ve already pointed you in the direction of the best food carts, but this list is all about the brick-and-mortar eateries. From a no-frills Korean favorite to a low-key Chinese go-to, here’s a list of the best restaurants Beaverton has to offer.

Technically in Aloha, this off-the-radar gem on TV Highway is what dim sum dreams are made of. Pork shumai and steamed shrimp ha gao are safe choices, along with the steamed sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. If you take the noodle route, opt for the ultratender Mongolian beef or the simultaneously (somehow!) juicy and crispy duck. Finish with the flaky sweet BBQ pork puff, the custard tarts, or if you can manage it, both. 18855 SW Tualatin Valley Hwy, Aloha—DB

With savory meatballs slathered in mozzarella cheese, generously seasoned Italian sausage, and juicy Chicago beef (don’t forget the giardiniera) that gets a cosign from Windy City natives, Geraldi’s could really stop at hot sandwiches if it wanted to. But the family-owned spot that’s been around since 1983 and sits on the Beaverton-Portland border is also dishing out massive cold-cut sandwiches, classic red-sauced pasta, and old-school puffy-crusted pizza. 10000 SW Canyon Rd, Portland —DB

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, this Peruvian restaurant serves bold South American flavors strides away from downtown Beaverton. Bright and fresh starters like the ceviche mixto blending red snapper, shrimp, and squid with sweet potato, large Peruvian corn kernels, spices, and onion are best enjoyed on the petite patio if it’s not raining. The lomo saltado—strips of rib eye with tomatoes, fries, and rice—pack heat but not enough to be officially declared spicy. However, the aji de gallina—a shredded-chicken dish drowned in a creamy sauce—has a kick, with all signs pointing to the Peruvian yellow peppers. Whatever you get, an Inca Kola (Peruvian soda) is the perfect pairing. 12090 SW Allen Blvd —DB

One step inside the smoky, quaint Korean restaurant and your senses immediately step ahead, your gaze alighting on each table while the aromas of sizzling meat  and bubbling stews set your stomach growling. Do start with the super-crisp seafood pancake, but skip the kitchen-grilled galbi, which lacks char, and do it yourself instead. Sizeable portions of dishes like the spicy pork and potato soup, complete with pleasantly bitter greens, are enough for a small family to share, so try not to get full from the refreshing, easily devourable gratis kimchi and potato salad. 4600 SW Watson Ave, 503-646-9382 —DB

Famous red curry, pad kee mao, and honey crispy chicken

Beaverton has no shortage of Thai options, but it’s easy to see why folks flock to Siam Lotus, which boasts bamboo décor and a vibrant bar. Just as lively are dishes like the sweet-tangy honey crispy chicken, the velvety-smooth red curry, and the holy basil fried rice that—if you crank the heat level high enough—will leave your lips tingling. 12600 SW Crescent St #150 —DB

Tân Tân's bánh mì

Natural light brightens this Vietnamese staple that’s so off the beaten track you might easily miss it from the road. But IYKYK, because Tân Tân—which translates to "new beginnings"—has been serving Beaverton for decades. Fresh spring rolls and the fish sauce wings are great for starters, or to share. Banh mi sandwiches, like the Tân Tân special with fried pork and head cheese, sit on soft yet sturdy French bread. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the che chuoi—a delightful Vietnamese banana pudding filled with tapioca pearls—from the grab-and-go cooler. 12675 SW Broadway St —DB

Whether you pack in on a crowded weekend morning or go elbows up at the counter on a slow weekday, you can count on Tom’s Pancake House to dish out consistent, classic breakfast favorites. Aside from the wide choice of pancakes—including buckwheat, potato, and Swedish—the 56-year-old establishment is dishing out massive, fluffy omelettes, fruity crêpes, and a handful of egg combos. 12925 SW Canyon Rd —DB

Some of Beaverton’s best Indian food lives inside this hybrid grocery store–restaurant, and while the ambience leans cafeteria, the food more than makes up for it. Order the massive, weekends-only goat biryani, loaded with tender bone-in meat and sneaky heat easily tamed by the accompanying yogurt sauce. Break off pieces of crisp, tangy masala dosas stuffed with tender potatoes and dunk them into green and red chutneys. Serious heat lovers can opt for the fiery red, oil-doused battered and fried chile chicken, and there’s a cauliflower version for the herbivores out there. 1815 NW 169th Pl #6020 —KCH

Though no one can fill the Dukuhbee-shaped hole in our hearts after the handmade noodle restaurant closed during the pandemic, this eatery specializing in Korean bar snacks is a welcome newcomer. Must-orders include the super-trendy Korean hot dogs on a stick—complete with impressive mozzarella cheese pulls—plus the seaweed rolls encasing vermicelli noodles in deep-fried nori. And while it’s hard to top the delights of chewy, sweet-spicy ddukbokki, the rose version here ups the ante with cream, bacon, and hot dog slices. An order of half garlic, half spicy fried chicken wings is obligatory, as is a bottle of soju or Korean beer to accompany them. 12590 SW First St Suite B, 503-567-1322 —KCH
